Wednesday, April 30 On April 16th 2008, Adlib Software sponsored a Webinar titled “Smarter Document Capture” that was hosted by AIIM (The Enterprise Content Management Association). When used appropriately, document imaging represents a powerful tool that can help increase productivity and costs savings while having a direct environmental impact. Unfortunately, hard drives full of document images can often be harder to manage than a desktop of file cabinet full of paper. During that one hour webinar about document imaging, Ralph Gammon, Editor for the Document Imaging Report, discussed different ways of making document images more effective. Attendees discovered the pros and cons of various file formats (PDF, PDF/A, TIFF, JPEG, etc.), the importance of file compression, how to effectively make documents searchable and editable, the role of OCR tools, and the need to optimize documents for the Web. Adlib Software would like to thank everyone who attended the Webinar session and invites others to view the archived version on the AIIM website or download the Powerpoint version described below.
